Radio NRG was founded by Gjergji Skëndaj and Andi Islami in 2003, primarily Focused on Music Broadcasting and music producing.
The company Loudcom Media that controls the radio station stated in 2022 that 45.8% of the revenues are generated from music production rights.
However, the radio station has had quite well-known shows in the country, including broadcasting the "Aldo Morning Show" in collaboration with Klan TV. Additionally, Radio NRG has collaborated and continues to collaborate with renowned journalists such as Kozeta Kurti, Ardit Roshi, Olsa Maze, Eni Shehu, and others. A businessman, one of the heirs of Marsel Skëndo (Skëndaj), the founder of TV Klan. Skëndaj, along with Andi Islami, established 'NRG MULTIMEDIA' in 2003, a company that holds the broadcasting rights for radio on the 106.6 FM waves, initially as 'Radio Energy' and later as NRG Radio. Skëndaj owned 70 percent of the shares, while Islami, who has no other businesses apart from the radio, owned 30 percent. Skëndaj left the radio business a month after the company was founded and sold his shares to Agron Banushi. He regained 70 percent ownership in 2013 and sold those shares to minority shareholder Andi Islami in 2016.
The other founder, has been involved in media productions as a DJ since the 90s, as an immigrant in Italy, and worked at Top Albania Radio until 2002. From 1998 to 2002, he was the Program Director at Top Albania Radio. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is also engaged in music recording and has been an administrator of the company that owns NRG Radio since 2003. Despite being a minority shareholder until 2016, Islami is the one who managed the radio company. Since 2016, he fully owns the company's shares. Islami is also a music producer and manager, among other things.
