Monitor is the only business and economic weekly magazine in Albania. The magazine is in its 20th year of publication and offers news, analysis, opinion and statistics on economic and business issues. Monitor also publishes a monthly English version, which collects the most important articles published in the local language by the magazine.

The weekly magazine Monitor is a publication of Media Union LLC. The sole owner of Media Union is the company Union Group LLC – 70 per cent of the shares of Union Group LLC are owned by the brothers Edmond and Niko Leka, 10 percent of the shares are owned by Varuzhan Piranjani, 10 per cent by Eduard Shima and 10 per cent by Gjergj Misha.

Edmond Leka

started his career as an engineer in the Albania Power Corporation, before moving to the private sector in 1995 in order to help his brother Niko Leka to expand Western Union in the country. Today, the Leka brothers own a string of companies, with Union Bank considered as the crown jewel. In 2000, Edmond Leka entered the media market by launching the economic weekly ‘Monitor.’ In December 2005, the Leka brothers bought 20% of the pay-per-view platform DigitAlb, through their company Union Distribucion Servis Albania LLC. In May 2023 Leka Brothers owned 16.80% of the pay per view Digitalb shares through their companies Arch Investor and Union Group LLC.
Apart from his business activities, Edmond Leka is the chairman at the Board of Directors of Harry Fultz Institute while his brother is the president of Automobile Club Albania.

Eridon Lameborshi

has been appointed as CEO of Media Union since January 2021. He is also the general secretary of Automobile Club Albania, ACA, a non-profit organisation directed by Niko Leka. ACA has the exclusive right to organise motorsport races in Albania and has been lately involved in the governmental project of Auto Moto Albania.
